Sale of the Light Dragoon

The owners of the Light Dragoon have notified East Riding of Yorkshire Council that they are intending to dispose of the building.  The Freehold for the building is currently listed for sale at £375,000 + VAT and it is being marketed at as going concern.

The Light Dragoon is an asset of community value.  This means that if the Community expresses an interest in submitting an offer to buy the pub before the of April, then a 6 month moratorium on a sale will be triggered to allow the community time to submit a bid.  The seller has no obligation to accept any offer from the community.

If there is a consortium of people within the community that would like the Parish Council to trigger the 6 month moratorium, so that the consortium has the time to submit a bid for the building, please contact ettonpc@outlook.com as soon as possible.

The Parish Council understands that a change of use planning application is required if the building is to be used for any other purpose,.  Residents would have the opportunity to comment on any such application in the normal way.

Details of the Community Asset process (including our understanding on change of use for planning) and marketing details for the pub are listed below.
